How To Make Jollof Rice

Ingredients

1/4 chopped white onions

4 tablespoons olive oil

250g / 2 cups of Basmati Rice (washed & drained)


Method

1. Pour oil into medium saucepan. Fry onion in oil (Gas Medium Heat / Electric Hob Mark 4) & stir for 2 minutes until lightly browned.

2. Pour in Glorious Gloria’s sauce. Leave for 1 minute & stir.

3. Take the pan off the heat, stir in washed rice until coated with Glorious Gloria’s sauce. Then cover with parchment paper & lid, and allow to cook for 10 minutes. (Gas Medium Heat / Electric Hob Mark 4)

4. Take the pan off the heat, stir, & return to heat for 5 minutes.

5. Add 150 ml of water & stir well, then leave to cook for 5 mins (whilst stirring, care should be taken not to scrape the bottom of the pan).

6. Take the pan off the heat, stir, & return to heat (Gas Low Heat / Electric Hob Mark 3) for 5 minutes. (Whilst stirring, care should be taken not to scrape the bottom of the pan). Repeat step 6 twice or more till rice is nicely cooked.

7. Remove parchment paper and replace the lid or serve immediately.
